Account Setup, Billing & Insurance Questions

  • What does it take for me to rent a unit from Metro? If we don’t have a relationship with you already, we ask that you fill out our credit application and fax or email it to the office you’ll be doing business with.
  • How much does the product I want cost? Product prices vary widely based on rental term, customization and availability. Please use our Quote Request Form or Call Us and we’ll get you a price right away.
  • Does Metro sell or finance this equipment? Though we are primarily a rental operation, we are willing to price a unit at a customer’s request. Call or use our Quote Request Form and explain what you are looking for and we’ll get back to you.
  • What insurance requirements do you have? We require any company who is renting a storage product to carry a general liability policy with a $1,000,000 minimum.
  • What are your billing terms? Our bills are due upon receipt. We bill in the early days of each rental period so you pay for your current month’s use, we do not bill in arrears.
  • Do you require a deposit? Depending on the equipment ordered (new equipment, customizations, etc.) and our familiarity with your company, we may or not need a deposit to begin the rental.
  • When do you begin billing me rent? We send our first bill as soon as the equipment is delivered. We always bill for the current rental timeframe and do not require rent payment before delivery.
  • Do you prorate your rent? Some products are prorated and billed from the first of the month. Some items are billed in monthly increments.
  • I have equipment like yours that I want to sell or trade in. Does Metro buy used equipment? Occasionally Metro does buy used equipment.  Call Us if you are interested in selling something we may want to own.

Delivery & Setup Questions

  • How long does it take to get my equipment delivered after I place an order? We can almost always have equipment delivered and setup within 3 business days and in more urgent situations as soon as the same business day.
  • How far out will Metro deliver? Our facilities are generally able to deliver throughout the states in which they are located.  We are more than willing to work with custormers for out of state deliveries.
  • Who is responsible for permitting? Most municipalities do not restrict onsite storage, however you may need to check with your local permit department.
  • What do I need to do prior to the arrival of the equipment? We will need access to a level, compacted surface large enough for the equipment to be set up. If you would like us to drop a storage trailer against a dock, you will need a dock plate to access the trailer. The customer is responsible for providing wheel chocks, fifth wheel locks and necessary padlocks.
  • How do you deliver a portable storage container? We have a fleet of specialized equipment that transports and loads or unloads our containers. We need a cleared space at least twice the length of the container in order to load or unload. We cannot move a loaded container as our equiptment tilts the container in the loading process.
  • Can I have someone else pickup or relocate my rented container? Because it takes specialized equipment and experience we cannot permit customers or outside vendors to move our containers.
  • What if I cannot be at the location for the delivery or pickup? We require the customer or an authorized agent be onsite for us to deliver or pickup equipment.
  • How do I schedule a return pickup for my equipment? Call one of our friendly agents to arrange for equipment pickup.

  • What security products do you offer? For containers and storage trailers we offer tamper-resistant disc locks. For containers we offer lock-rod locks and for storage trailers we offer KingPin Trailer Hitch Security Locks.
  • What flooring is in a container? Our containers have a heavy-duty 1.125″ marine grade plywood floor. They are designed for heavy and varied freight transport on the open ocean and are highly resistant to damage and warping.
  • Can shelving be installed in my storage container? Yes. We have shelving units we can provide. Make sure you let us know what your needs are.
  • What if I notice a small leak when it rains? Call us immediately – we’ll get someone onsite to repair the issue as quickly as possible. You can help speed this process up if you can identify the location of the leak and clear the area.
